About the Role

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the development of our brand-new Autism Enhanced Resource Provision (The Autism Hub) at Stanground Academy. Opening in Easter 2025, the Hub will initially support 2 students, growing to accommodate 8 students over the first year.

The Hub is designed for KS3 & KS4 students with Autism as their primary diagnosis. It aims to provide enhanced structure and resources while enabling access to mainstream education when appropriate. As the Teacher-in-Charge, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Autism Hub.
  • Develop and deliver interventions focused on social, emotional, literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
  • Manage the Hub team and coordinate with external agencies, parents, and the local authority.
  • Shape the Hub as a Centre of Expertise in Autism, offering advice and training to local schools.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential:

    • Qualified Teacher Status with a minimum of three years’ experience.
    • Knowledge and experience in Autism and SEN.
    • Experience teaching and supporting KS3 & KS4 students.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Desirable:

    • Postgraduate qualifications in Autism or SEN Coordination.
    • Experience developing tailored interventions for SEN students.
