Admissions to the Stanground Academy

At Stanground Academy we have due regard to our obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and review our policies and practices to make sure these meet the requirements of the Act. Our admissions procedure does not discriminate on the grounds of disability; gender reassignment; pregnancy and maternity; race; religion or belief; sex; or sexual orientation, against a person in the arrangements and decisions it makes as to who is offered admission as a pupil.
Pupils are admitted at the start of, and during, two main stages:
- Secondary year 7 (age 11)
- Secondary post-16 (age 16)
Admission numbers:
a) 240 full time places - year 7
b) 300 full time places - post 16 (including all year 11 pupils at the Academy who choose to stay on for their Post-16 education)
To apply for a place at the Stanground Academy
- For admission to secondary year 7, in the year preceding admission, parents should apply using Peterborough City Council's Schools Admission process. The national offer date in 1 March 2024. This is when you should receive a letter/email for an accepted place.
- For admission in September 2024, these forms can be accessed on-line, and all applications must be completed to Peterborough City Council by midday, 31 October 2023. Any applications later than this is deemed 'late'.

- For Post-16 admissions, please contact the Stanground Academy on 01733 821430 or complete the Post-16 application form on our Sixth Form page.

Right of Appeal
There will be a right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at age 11 or above. Appeals should be made within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal.
If refused admission, you should contact the academy at the address below to lodge an appeal and mark your envelope 'Admissions Appeals':
