Stanground Academy is delighted to have been chosen to work with the Skills Builder Partnership as a participant school of the Skills Builder Accelerator in the 2024-25 academic year.

Skill development is a core part of the Stanground Academy personal development strategy, with the Bronze award achieved in the 2023-24 academic year.

We will be developing students’ essential skills in the following areas:

• Listening
• Speaking
• Problem-solving
• Creativity
• Staying positive
• Aiming high
• Leadership
• Teamwork

Each skill has a series of Skills Builder level descriptors, so students are constantly developing their skills to higher levels.

• Delivery of the Skills Builder Programme will take place through:
• Explicit teaching of skills in personal development lesson time.
• Development and rehearsal of skills in form time.
• Deliberate practice of skills in curriculum time and extracurricular activities.
• Evidencing of skills development through the Unifrog platform.
