Stanground Academy

What To Expect in September 2024

During our transition days, you'll find out what House and what Tutor Group you will be in. You will be in that House throughout your time with us.

Your tie will also be the colour of your House!

To get you up to speed on uniform guidance, expectations and values, extracurricular clubs, rewards, and more, take a look at our Pocket Guide to Year 7 below!

We understand that the transition from Primary School to Secondary School can be full of stressful and confusing, and we want to do our best to help you through this.

Who can you talk to?

If you have any queries that you would like to talk to our teams about, please find their information on the Key Staff page. This will include our SEND department and Safeguarding Team.

If there are people that you would like to talk with but cannot find their contact information, please get in touch with our Enquiries Team.

How do we communicate with you?

One of our main methods of communication is via ClassCharts. Information regarding your child's attendance, behaviour, corrections and their timetable can be found on this app. When your child starts with us, we'll give you the right information to get your account set up.

We'll also send you emails via Groupcall to let you know of any information from early closures and school closures to trip information and attendance.

Make sure that you also check in to our weekly Parent Bulletin, which is published every Friday during term time!

Keep up to date with achievements and rewards on our Facebook and X account too!

How do you pay for your child's lunches and trips?

You can pay for your child's lunches and trips through Vericool, as we operate a cashless system.

You will get the information to set up your account when your child starts with us.

Your child has a medical appointment - what do you do?

Please can you email your child's tutor in the first instance with proof of appointment - this can be a text message, email or physical letter. If you cannot reach your child's tutor, please email the Year Team.

A Permission to Leave slip can then be issued which must be signed by the parent/ carer at reception upon pick-up.

Your child has forgotten something - will it reach them?

Yes! Please can you bring the item to reception at your earliest convenience, making sure that the team knows the name of the student and year group.

We understand that uniforms and school items can be expensive, so please make sure that your child's name is clearly written on them.

How can you give my feedback?

As a key stakeholder of the academy, we welcome your feedback. To do this, please let our Enquiries Team know via email. You can also give us your feedback on our form
